I had a sweet experience tonight after service. I preached on "Owning Responsibility," always a popular subject among modern-day Christians - especially those among my age and younger. Let's just say I didn't get the outline from Joel Osteen. I preached about taking responsibility for your actions and not making excuses or lying to get out of it. After the service, a sweet little first grade girl came up and pulled on my sleeve. "Preacher, I broke the door knob on the gym door Sunday. I'm sorry." Truth was that it was already broken and I just hadn't fixed it yet (I did this evening). I assured her that it wasn't her fault, and rejoiced that even first graders can listen on purpose and hear the still small voice of God in the preaching. Too bad more adults don't have such tender consciences!

That's a powerful illustration! It's amazing how tender children can be. I too wish more adults would follow their example!
Thats a sweet story. Why didnt you tell me that while we were on the phone?
Because I want you to read my blog!
Ooohhh if only adults hearts were softened and their stiff necks removed! What a turning would happen in this country! How do adults sit under convicting preaching of any kind and not be moved and stirred to head to the altar?
LOL Well, I reckon that's one way to get your family to read!
